Knowmadics CEO Paul Maguire is Award Finalist for US Forces in Business Entrepreneur of the Year

Oct 10, 2024

Knowmadics co-founder and CEO Paul Maguire is a finalist in the 2024 US Forces in Business Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year category. The Forces in Business Awards is the world’s largest business celebration of the Armed Forces community, celebrating former servicemen and women thriving in their post-military careers. The inaugural ceremony for the USA edition takes place in Rockville, MD, on November 21, 2024.

The organization that hosts these awards, Ex-Forces in Business, created this platform for uncovering and showcasing the business achievements of veterans, presenting them as role models to service leavers, and recognizing the employers that support current and former servicemen and women.

“It’s a real honor to be recognized as an entrepreneur, but being recognized as a U.S. military veteran means even more. I grew up in an Army household and was fortunate to be mentored by incredible men and women during my time on active duty. That mentorship carried over into the business world, where veterans continued to guide me,” stated Maguire. “Like my military oath, I feel a responsibility to pay it forward—mentoring and hiring veterans whenever I can.”

At Knowmadics, 30% of employees and a third of senior leadership are veterans and the company has an ongoing commitment to growing those numbers.

Maguire co-founded Knowmadics with Claire Ostrum in 2013, focusing on public safety and security, and has grown the company into the innovative technology solutions company it is today. A former U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer with deployments across the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Persian Gulf, Maguire supports veteran transition programs like Skillsbridge and hires veterans whenever possible. He holds over a dozen U.S. and international patents and graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Long Island University.
