The final step is to select project-proficient service partners that will support the implementation and integration of new products and services.”Furthermore, Shields explains that modernization includes leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT). Integrating police departments’ sensors (radios, smartphones, body-worn cameras, etc.) with an “all-in-one platform produces a portable, virtual command board that improves situational awareness, optimizes responses and enhances resource efficiency and effectiveness.”
